CHILDREN OF LIGHT KIDS' CLUB!

That's what were calling our Outreach to our kids' best friends. We have a core group of about 8 kids that come to our home every Friday for Games & Songs in English, an English Lessons, and a Bible Memory Verse and a Bible Story in English and Japanese. We told the parents up front that we wanted to teach morals from the Bible. There are no morals taught in Japan these days, and society is deteriorating rapidly, crime is increasing, and families are more and more estranged.

The kids love the many games and songs we do. They get to invite THEIR friends one Friday a month and we rent a public hall to host 20-25 kids. They are entranced by the Bible stories and often talk with us afterwards. They memorize verses both in English and Japanese and then report to us the next week how they did in applying it.

Pray that we can reach not only the kids for Christ, but their parents and brothers and sisters as well. The name is our prayer and hope that they would become, "Children of Light."

A new version of the old "Simon says" Game in English:

Jesus says, "Lift your hands!"

The kids are practicing their English:

What's your name? Where are you from? How old are you? What kind of Sports do you like to play? What's your favorite Food?

Mariko talks with one of the Summer Workers.

They were a great help to us with the kids!

Jun practices "Be kind to one another" -

"Would you like some of my candy?"

This Team of 6 from Goodview Baptist Church in Virginia came for 4 days to put on Bible stories with Puppets. We had about 35 kids and 8 different families come to the show, to a BBQ with our JOY Fellowship Church members, and to the Church Service on Sunday. To most of those families, it was their first time to meet another Japanese Christian besides Yumiko and me, and for all except one family, it was their first time to go to a church!
